June 1st in Toronto eh? Sounds like a good way to get the summer going.

I was listening to Wolverine Blues earlier today.

necrobutcher - 2-11-2010 at 06:30 PM

Isn't Entombed Swedish death metal? I wonder how they got paired with Merauder.

Jason the Magnificent - 2-11-2010 at 07:07 PM

Entombed has also toured with hatebreed before they blew up.

Not that unlikely. I saw Entombed back in '96-'97 with Bloodlet and a hardcore band. Hatebreed were also on the bill but decided to no-show because they didn't feel like making the drive.

barc0debaby - 2-11-2010 at 11:32 PM

Merauders being doing alot of shows with metal bands since this new album dropped.

lifeisabitch - 2-11-2010 at 11:53 PM

I would like to see this show

clevohardcore - 2-12-2010 at 12:31 AM

Was that at the Elmo in Toronto with Day Of Mourning as well? I was at that show it was amazing.

As far as them being Swedish Death Metal? Yes there was a time long long ago when they were, but they have not been for many years. Now I just see them as a dirty rock n roll band. Nothing wrong with that mind you.

As they should be!

It's a metal record, they are mainly a metal band and always have been...a metal band with HC roots and HC fans.

The HC scene worldwide knows who Merauder are.
But to many metalheads, they are fairly unknown so this tour makes a lot of sense.

That was the show. Entombed were incredible that night.

BKT - 2-12-2010 at 11:50 AM

Ya they were. I remember when they closed with the song Left Hand Path, it was god damn epic.

How many shows did Hatebreed cancel in Toronto back in the day? hahaha. That became a regular occurrence and almost somewhat of a joke.

BKT.

Dirty rock n roll you say? Now I'm interested. The last thing I even know about from Entombed was Wolverine Blues. I'm going to have to check out some of their newer shit.

XHonusWagnerX - 2-12-2010 at 03:32 PM

I dont consider them real death metal either, but they are pretty heavy.

They kind of sound like if Sepultura was from New Orleans insted of being from Brazil to me.

panzerkreuzer - 2-12-2010 at 04:17 PM

i saw this merauder/ entombed package in december and must say at least in my town it didn´t work well. when merauder played only hardcore people were in front of the stage and the metalheads at the bar. when entombed played, most hc people left the club. hope it works better in the states.

as for entombed, if you don´t know their newer stuff, you have to check out morning star and To Ride, Shoot Straight, And Speak The Truth. both records are great dirty stuff.

Thanks man, I'm going to check those out.

Yeah, Hatebreed cancelled a pile of shows. The promoter Noel was unbelievably pissed that night.

Six66Mike - 2-12-2010 at 10:22 PM

I wish I was still in Toronto :( Inertia does the best shows.
