Jamey Jasta Thank You Sale?
http://www.jameyjasta.com/thankyou/
This is odd to me. I don't want to talk shit on this guy. He seems like he is a really nice dude who helps out tons of bands. He's also been VERY nice
to me when just meeting him at shows.
This is just odd to me. An 8x10? Signed? Weird

Band shirts and related stuff is one thing but selling shirts and other assorted stuff with just your name seems kinda weird to me.
Support the arts, shoot a rapper.

lol buy your way into the liner notes? That seems pretty retarded. I'm in a few from Ontario bands that I helped in some way but I would have never
thought to buy my name into it haha. Ridiculous.
It just seems there wasn't enough money in the bank to finish this or what?
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

Exactly...Did their contract expire/get dropped? Or,just decided to try to keep all the money for themselves? It's really not a bad idea, especially if
you have the fanbase.
Will learn to Tap Dance,eventually...Will have you broads Hula,definitely...Trust me,you'll see.

Seems pretty lame if ya ask me. Everything about it.

Its fucking weak and pathetic and makes my desire to jam HATEBREED that much more less. It's a shame because that band jams.

I don't see the problem, if people want to do it, let them. I was thinking about it for my side project. A lot of bands are doing it so they can
release independently. I think the 8x10s are a bit much, but everything else seems fine to me.

I totally support it for indie bands, but it seems like Jamie should have enough money to put out a record or could find a lable to put it out insted
of selling autographs.

You can't fault a dude for selling autographs if there is a demand for it. The fact is that people probably buy them. I mean..... I saw this dude's
band play at the Causeway in Boston to about 10 people years ago so I'm not getting in line to have one. But I have got in line to have Paul
Westerberg sign something. For some odd reason this guy is like Paul Westerberg to Hot Topic kids.

I know its super nerdy, but I like autographs. I also understand C level people selling autographs at conventions and stuff... maybe Jameys just not
as big as he seems and he needs the money.

See I didn't (and still don't) see anything on the page about signed autographs. Paying to have your name in the thank you section of the liner notes
is all that caught my eye, cheesy to the end and pretty much pisses on everyone who actually did something to deserve a thanks or credit.

We did this with the last CD because we were running out of money. But our approach was to pre-sell the CD, and those who ordered it got thanked in
the liner notes. They also got the free bootleg as a bonus. I still have a box full of headshots from my standup days, hmmmmm...I think I may have
just found a solution to my rent problem...

The autograph is one thing but TO BE IN THE LINER NOTES? That is for someone who has helped them or inspired them. Not for people to pay to be on. It
cheapens the liner note idea.

Yeah. It's knd of weird. Hudson Falcons did the same thing. I paid the $30 because I want to have a new album by them and support them. But I don't
want them to list my name in the liner notes.
As related, I feel like most bands thank people and other bands to name drop them. It certainly helped me discover some new bands when I was a kid but
I really could do without those ever again.
My favorite mention I got in a liner notes was in the first Unseen CD. They wrote "Thanks to Mark and his Ducky Boys". Boy, did that piss off
the other guys in my band at the time. But perception is everything and it was evident to the Unseen that they were just enjoying a free ride on the
back of my labors so fuck them.
