Gonna be a dad
Mrs. Newbreed is knocked up with a boy.
We're due in January and I couldn't be more excited. I didn't think I could love her more than I do right now but something has changed and shes gone
from being my wife of 7 years to the mother of my child.
Any advice for a soon to be father?

Don't co-sleep, put baby right into their own crib beside the bed Seriously,
our last one did and has been a leech ever since, always wanting attention. Older one went straight to crib, totally independent, always playing
without needing to be entertained.
Congrats
A lot of people ask me what kind of music I like. I love "soul music". My "soul music" isn’t a style, genre or niche. It’s music that is genuine. It’s
a painful lyric, a dirty bassline, it’s a harrowing vocal, it’s feedback, it’s an anthem, it’s a love song, it’s anarchy. I’ve got my personal
favourites but in the end it doesn’t matter who or where it comes from... so long as it’s good and it's real.

I have one of those on order as well, should be delivered around 1/3/2012. Congrats! Is it your first? It's my first and I am psyched! Not sure if
we are having a boy or girl yet though.

Congratulations!!!
Okay, when changing diapers, put the new one under him BEFORE you remove the dirty one. That way, if he's not quite done, you're not having to get
out the hazmat suits to clean your (or someone else's) table/floor/kitchen couter. On a related note, boys at that young age don't have the
self-control us big kids do, so watch out for old faithful

Crap, I thought I had posted on here about having a new one on the way. Maybe I didn't... Thanks!
Edit: I guess this

was the only slight mention I made of it on here. I feel like an ass.

Yeah its our first. We kept it under wraps for a while as we had some complications previously but all is well.
I've never changed a diaper before and have never felt this sense of protection over Nadine (my baby momma).
Congrats to you as well.

Bang like crazy right now because the hump train will slow to a hault when baby is born. I've resorted to Good housekeeping mags just like in junior
high. It's weird. Now that my son is five and more aware of when dad and mom leave the room. The wife has issue with it. Apparently a locked door
isn't enough.
Have as much fun as possible with your kid. When they are baby, make them laugh. Do as much feeding as you can. Help out. It is awesome when they
acknowledge you or smile because you gave them mushed peas or carrots. Play THE RAMONES or THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS alot. My sons 2 favorite bands it
seems.
Make the best of it and CONGRATS!
Each aspect of the soul has it's own part to play, but the ideal is harmonious agreement with reason and control.

I have held firm that the first diaper I change will be on my own kid so now I just have until January-ish to avoid such a task.

Congrats, and as stated before put the baby to sleep in it crib or bassinet. If not he will be stuck to you like glue always wanting attention. Did
it with my son and was holding him so he would go to sleep till he was 3 or 4, then had to lay with him for a while. He still comes into bed with us
every now and then, my daughter on the other hand goes right into her bed and fall right asleep. Never have a problem with her unless she is sick.
Enjoy parenthood, their is nothing like it!

Congrats and my best advice is to enjoy every single second. Even the ones that make you want to put the kid out on the curb. Truth is every second
with your child is a gift and something that should always be cherished.

It's clear in this thread co-sleeping sucks lol. We had to put him to sleep on us for 8-9 months and he was in our bed roughly 6-7 months then we set
up a crib beside the bed with one side off so he was basically in the bed but not in our bed.
Still have to lay there til he goes to sleep and go in constantly when he wakes up. Straight to crib best advice you can get for your long term
sanity. It may be nice to have them sleep on you sometimes but not as a habit.

Jonny, in my rush to agree with Mike I forgot to say congratulations.
This is a whole new and surreal stage in life. Sometimes I sit down at the dinner table or after the kids are in bed and I think "how crazy is it that
I'm a dad? I still feel like a kid myself."

Definitely accelerate the banging NOW. Then be prepared for lots of coffee, sleep deprivation, and masturbation. BUT - through it all, you will find
wonder, mystery and amazement with everything happening, A true blessing.
