My regrets. My dog just turned 15, but she's in good shape, so I figure she'll hit 17/18. I don't even like thinking about her not around, had her since she was 5 weeks.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. When my dog died I was a wreck for weeks, same for when my brother's dog died. My dog now is getting up there, when she goes I'll be a mess all over again.

Thanks everyone. It has been a rough week. I broke my arm saturday so things could be better. Mrs reed83 is really struggling. He and I were the closest but he was her baby. At least he went quick and had an awesome life. Take care everyone and drink one for us.

That's rough man, I hope you guys do ok. I'm actually hesitant to get another pet after having one die on me. It's incredibly difficult to get such an attachment to an animal that has a much shorter lifespan than a person. Whether they live a long life or have it cut short, it's never easy to lose that bond.

I showed my wife this thread, it helped her sleep. She is down for the night so thanks everyone. It meant a lot to her.

It is hard for her she hasn't really lost a freind or family member before. I miss him and want to wait for the next dog but the way I look at it is that I will need to rescue another dog and give it an incredibly happy life. In time, in time.

Thorp board saves the day again. Thanks for everything from the Reed83's.

Now it is time for some Social D, DKM and Busch Light.

This is the number one reason why I don't want to get a pet.
Fish, maybe.

Sorry to hear that Chris. I lost my dog when I was alittle kid. I remember seeing her in the morning before I went to school and when I came back my parents said they had to put her to sleep because she had so many tumors. Stay positive, I know its not easy.

My mom inherited my sisters German shephard a year after my pup died. I think because she's a female and our first pup Storm (RIP) was a male, it made it a bit easier for when you come home or whatever and say things like "theres my favorite girl" etc,. I don't think she would've handled it the same if it was a male.
