How fat is the thorp board?

with all the talk about new years resolutions, losing weight, getting in shape, eating better, exercising and stuff I was wondering how heavy everyone on the board actually is.

i was at about 270 before the holidays, so i suppose a little higher by now. being 6'4" helps spread the weight out a bit, but in all honesty, my knees and feet hurt every day. it's clear my body can't continue like this; something needs to be done.

Im about 165-170. I would mind working my way back towards 150 though. That's where I was in college, and I assume it's more of my natural weight (when Im more active at least). Thinking about it though... all I really need to do is make sure that I fit into the suit I bought for my wedding, and the waist on that baby is 33 at the moment. Apparently the most they can be expanded is 1/2 inch, but I'd like to avoid that. Right now.... theyre snug, but not tight.

Ive always been smaller. In high school I wore a 29. Im just recently moving onto 33/34, and since I was sick for 2+ weeks those have a bit more room to them now. My father has a bunch of 36 and 38 waist pants he's been waiting to give to me for years now. I tell him not to rush me.

you know what's kinda scary... even with my height and my big-boned-ness, at 270 i am technically obese. that's a scary fucking word. 'over weight', 'fat', husky'... those are all very acceptable terms, but 'obese' is pretty rough.

I'm at 223 right now, I was weighin' in at 265 when I left Austin. I feel a LOT better, but I'm obviously not where I need to be yet. I would LOVE to drop down below 200. I honestly can't remember when I crossed that line, I know the most I weighed back in High School was about 170, but that was a looooong time ago and I was still a couple inches shorter than I am now (weird late growth spurt). I don't ever expect to get down that low, I'd probably look really strange if I did, but I'd say 185-195 would suit me just fine.

unfortunately no, sit ups won't get rid of a gut no matter how many you do. it'll build muscle underneath the fat. lots of cardio and changing your eating habits is the way to go.

^^^^ I am with you on that HONUS. Food is the one thing that doesn't argue and talk back and it makes you feel good. I got ot get over that bullshit though cause its killing me. I got to be a man and quit looking for food to comfort me. My wife should be doing that. Or that hot chick at Kaufmann's I saw over the holidays. HAHAHAHAHA!

We need to keep this thread and poll.

If this is on we could use it to check progress. Everyone will need video or at the very least pitcures.
